In fact, recently Kangana Ranaut spoke openly about her film career in an interview given to The Lallantop. She also told how she got her first film ‘Gangster’.
While talking about this blockbuster film, Kangana Ranaut said that actress Chitrangada was supposed to be seen in this film in her place. But suddenly she got a call from the makers and she was finalized for it.
Kangana said that, in those days Mahesh Bhatt was looking for a new girl for his film. When I came to know about this, I also reached for the audition. Then I passed that audition and I got selected.
But after three days I get a call from Anurag Basu that we are not taking you in the film because Mahesh Bhatt did not like you. He says that you are too young for this role. That is why you are not suitable. So I told him that it is okay, no problem. Saying this I disconnected the call.
Kangana also revealed that she was told on the phone that Chitrangada has been selected for this film by removing you. But after a few days, I get a call from Anurag again. He tells me that Chitrangada is not picking up our call, maybe she has some personal reasons. That’s why you are finalized for the film.
So this is how Kangana Ranaut got her first film ‘Gangster’ as a lead actress. Apart from this, the actress called all the stories floating around about her casting in this film as fake.
